As the world progresses towards sustainable solutions and a low-carbon future, the global deployment of photovoltaic (PV) systems is gaining momentum. Yet, as PV technology advances, there is a growing potential for designing innovative integrated PV applications, that are attractive and holistic answers to challenges associated with the land and space required for PV technologies, as well as challenges regarding the production of solar power on locations of use.
To address these issues, Integrated PV (IPV) technologies—such as Product-Integrated PV (PIPV) Building-integrated PV (BIPV), Urban PV (UPV) Floating PV (FPV), Agrivoltaics, Indoor PV and Vehicle-integrated PV (VIPV)—offer groundbreaking solutions by integrating PV systems into existing spaces while using the design features of color, transparency, flexibility and formgiving of solar technologies. This approach holds great promise, especially given recent rapid adoption of IPV applications globally.
Building on the success of previous international IPV Workshops in 2022, 2023 and 2024, the 4th International IPV Workshop will be held from 17 to 18 March 2025.
This holistic event will bring together designers, industry leaders, academic researchers, social scientists, architects, and other technical experts to explore the latest trends, research, designs and advancements in IPV technologies. The 4th International IPV Workshop Highlights:
This workshop aims to foster an inspirational environment for interdisciplinary discussions and cutting-edge knowledge exchange. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of “Designing Innovative Integrated PV Applications,” and the potential of solar photovoltaics to transform and sustain our society.
