ETIP Forum

Since 2021, the ETIPs Forum has served as a collaborative platform bringing together all European Technology and Innovation Platforms (ETIPs), along with affiliated entities such as ESTELA. Established to foster a structured and continuous dialogue among its members, the Forum aims to minimise duplication, promote knowledge exchange, and align efforts towards shared decarbonisation objectives for 2030 and 2050.

Over time, the ETIPs Forum has strengthened its engagement in the SET Plan framework. Notably, it contributed a joint set of six recommendations on the draft revised National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs)—strategic documents that each Member State must regularly submit to the European Commission, outlining their national pathways to meet EU energy and climate targets.

These recommendations, developed independently by the ETIPs and published ahead of the new SET Plan Communication, closely reflected the Commission’s own assessment and were in line with outcomes from the 17th SET Plan Conference. NECPs play a central role in delivering on R&I and competitiveness targets, as they encapsulate each Member State’s national objectives under the SET Plan and the corresponding budgetary commitments.

Zabala Innovation and EERA jointly facilitate the ETIPs Forum, enabling cooperation across the ETIPs and affiliated entities and supporting them in speaking with a common voice.
