The PHAETHON Centre of Excellence at the University of Cyprus has opened applications for its 2026 Summer Internship Programme, focused on Intelligent, Efficient and Sustainable Energy Systems.

The PHAETHON CoE is a Horizon Europe “Teaming for Excellence” initiative conducting research in areas including power systems, smart grids, renewable energy integration, energy storage, digital twins, AI-driven energy analytics, PV metrology and green hydrogen technologies.

The programme offers selected undergraduate students hands-on research experience in advanced energy laboratories, technical workshops and structured training modules, direct mentorship from academic and research staff, and exposure to real-world energy transition challenges within an international and interdisciplinary environment.

Internships will take place from June to August 2026 (flexible dates). Applications are open to students from relevant engineering and scientific disciplines across Europe and the United States.

The application deadline is 6 March 2026.
