This workshop is the first one in series of the StoRIES project workshop series. StoRIES (Storage Research Infrastructure Eco-System) is a four-year EU-funded project which promotes a European ecosystem of industry and research organisations to develop sustainable and competitive solutions for energy storage. The consortium consists of members of the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) and the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE) (32 beneficiaries from 17 countries).
This workshop aims to mobilize a community of researchers and practitioners working on the energy storage technologies’ sustainability assessment to improve understanding of how the StoRIES project can contribute to populating Open Access database.
The workshop brings together participants to:
• Share experiences and building a common knowledge base for sustainability impact assessments through open access primary data of energy storage devices.
• Identify primary data requirements for sustainability assessment of energy storage technologies (e.g., LCA, LCC. S-LCA, MRIO) at each stage of a production cycle.
• Draft a process of generating FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) primary data in the frame of access to StoRIES’ research infrastructures useful for the sustainability assessments (e.g. LCA, LCC, s-LCA, MRIO) for different energy storage technologies.
