The EERA Joint Programme Smart Cities (JPSC) Summer Event 2024 will be held on 3 and 4 June in Prague and Brno, hosted by JP member Czech Technical University (CVUT).
The event will take place in the same week as the URBIS Smart City Fair, making it possible for JPSC to showcase its work to a bigger audience. Since its creation a decade ago, EERA JPSC and its members have contributed significantly to research and innovation in smart cities, both in the development of fundamental research, innovation and co-creation with city and industry partners, and in showcasing the importance of research and innovation in a field that is more and more prone to high-TRL (Technology Readiness Levels) demonstration projects.
Day one of the event will be dedicated to thematic workshops of EERA JPSC Working Groups, along with the EERA JPSC Steering Comittee (open for EERA JPSC SC members only).
On day two, applied research on innovation in urban environments carried out since 2013 by EERA JPSC will be presented at the BVV Trade Fairs Brno through a dynamic seminar within the URBIS Smart Cities Meetup on ‘‘Fast-tracking energy innovations in buildings, districts and cities’’.
This JPSC seminar, taking place on 4 June from 14:30 – 17:00 CET, will explore cutting-edge research and practical insights in the field of buildings, neighbourhoods, and urban systems, along with delving into the diverse approaches in positive energy districts (PED) and New European Bauhaus (NEB). A live demonstration with a digital city will be presented to showcase the application of PED cookbooks in real-world urban planning. The workshop will be held in English and Czech.
