SSH CENTRE concludes: reflecting on 3.5 years of social science for the energy transition

After three and a half years of collaboration, the SSH CENTRE project has officially come to an end, marking an important milestone for the integration of social sciences and humanities (SSH) into Europe’s energy and climate research landscape.

Bringing together a broad consortium of partners, SSH CENTRE worked to strengthen the role of SSH perspectives in the energy transition — from behavioural insights and societal engagement to governance and policy design. Over the course of the project, partners produced more than 80 outputs, including reports, deliverables, and collaborative publications that support policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders working on Europe’s sustainability challenges.

A key highlight is the final project video, capturing reflections from partners and showcasing the collaboration, research insights, and community built throughout the project.

Beyond the project’s conclusion, the collaboration continues. The upcoming Shared Green Societies Forum will build on the momentum of SSH CENTRE, providing a platform to further explore how social sciences can support Europe’s green transition and policy development.
