The call for papers has been launched for the upcoming workshop titled "Revamping Hydropower Research," organised by EERA JP Clean Energy TranSition for Sustainable Society (e3s), JP Hydropower, and tJP Digitalisation for Energy.
In light of the pressing need to accelerate the clean energy transition (CET) and meet ambitious climate targets, Europe faces challenges that require a multidisciplinary approach. Recent policy developments emphasise the crucial role of hydropower in achieving these goals, highlighting the importance of integrating digitalisation, grid optimisation, and environmental considerations.
Contributions are invited to address the following key challenges and topics:
1. The role of hydropower in the CET
2. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), biodiversity, and public acceptance of hydropower
3. Digitalisation for unlocking hydropower potential and facilitating the clean energy transition, where we can submit our contributions
