Apply for the SSH Centre’s Knowledge Brokerage online course


Co-developed by the SSH Centre project and Energy Cities, the Social Science and Humanities (SSH) Knowledge Brokerage online course will equip participants with the skills to transform complex sustainability ideas into practical solutions for city-level policymakers. By enrolling, participants can learn how to unlock the power of Knowledge Brokerage – the set of activities required to support the interaction among researchers and end-users to foster the use of scientific knowledge in decision-making processes, and strengthen research impact.

What participants will learn in a nutshell:

  • Why Social Sciences and Humanities is important for sustainability policy
  • The key challenges policy workers face in their daily roles
  • How to avoid common mistakes in the research-policy interface
  • Identifying what knowledge brokerage is, and what it is not.
  • Deciding what type of knowledge broker you want to be
  • Choosing appropriate brokerage activities depending on the resources available
  • Overcoming challenges in real-life knowledge brokerage scenarios

The SSH Centre project is glad to share the ongoing success of this online course, which has attracted nearly 50 participants within the first five weeks of its launch. The first participants have completed the course and received their certificates of completion, showcasing the course’s effectiveness and appeal.

 Enrol by December 20 and complete the course by the end of January 2025 to receive certification.
